Moving together for Julia: De Nieuwe Arts raises €6,604 for cancer research

200 kilometres, €6,604 raised for cancer research, and an incredible show of support from our colleagues. During Fight Cancer's LoveLife Run, we came together to support our colleague Julia. It was a day that showed just how much it means to be there for one another.

Sometimes the most meaningful initiatives start with a simple question. When our colleague Julia, who has personally experienced breast cancer, asked whether De Nieuwe Arts would sponsor her for Fight Cancer's LoveLife Run, the answer was obvious: of course! But we decided to take it one step further. After all, why stop at sponsoring her when we could get moving alongside her?

At the starting line together

On Saturday, 10 October, a fantastic group of colleagues gathered at the starting line, proudly wearing their blue DNA shirts. Some were ready to tackle 5 kilometres, others 10. But everyone shared the same goal: to support Julia and raise as much money as possible for cancer research.

Together, our colleagues covered an impressive 200 kilometres. For every kilometre completed, De Nieuwe Arts donated €10, contributing a total of €2,000. Personal fundraising efforts and generous donations from family, friends and colleagues added another €4,604. The result? An incredible €6,604 raised for cancer research!

More than just a sporting achievement

The amount raised is certainly something to be proud of. But just as meaningful was the support shown by everyone who ran, donated, cheered or helped make the day possible.

At De Nieuwe Arts, we work every day to improve people's health and well-being. And that commitment starts with our own colleagues. Especially when someone is going through a difficult time, knowing you can count on one another makes all the difference. The LoveLife Run brought that spirit to life: standing at the starting line together, moving forward together and making a difference for Julia together.
